"I might not be the ideal client for the hair braiding classes as I'm not a stylist, nor do I own my own salon. My goal was to be able to braid my daughter's hair. I will say paying that much for a class was a little scary, but I was tired of dropping $150 every time I got her hair done. I felt like this was an investment that would pay off in the long run. I'm still not an expert but I just started my journey. McKenzie and Tonika both were wonderful. They calmed my nerves, correcting my braiding mishaps without making me feel terrible, and made me laugh along the way. Tonika took her time showing me everything from fixing my parts to encouraging me to pick up my speed when I was ready. I was so proud of the braids I did on my daughter with Tonika's help I told every person I saw, even a few strangers. Since the class I've braided her hair and her friends hair. No they aren't perfect, but each time I do a style it gets better and faster than before. If my teenage daughter tells me it looks good, then I know it does. No huge knots on top, or slipping braids here! I'm excited to continue to improve braiding with the skills I learned from Tonika."
